Aruba, beautiful white 'bounty' beaches sun and see. Aruba quarantees a relaxed vacation with a cocktail in your hand.
Even for watersport fanatics Aruba is a must, scuba diving, wind surfing and snorkling are some of the possibilities.
The most beautiful scuba diving and snorkling places are found at Arashi and Malmok on the North - West side of the Island.
Aruba is 18.6 miles long en 3.7 miles wide.
De official language is Dutch, but the common language is Papiamento. Also English is spoken a lot on the island.
Climat
Aruba is a sunny island with a nice climat. Almost every day the sun is shining, if it rains, most of the time it is in the afternoon. Aruba has a tropical climat with a temperature of 90°F. The temperature on the island is very steady, the difference between the warmest and coldest season is only 38°F. The difference between day and night is 42°F. Conclusion: It's always hot. The wind of the Caribbean Sea is responsible for a lovely breeze on Aruba.
Transportation on Aruba
To go sightseeing on Aruba, the public bus is a good solution. When you want to make a country tour, it is recommended to rent a four wheel drive instead of a normal car, because of the gravel roads.
Time
The time on Aruba compared with the GTC time is 4 hours earlier in winter and 5 hours earlier in summer.
Food and beverages
You can drink the tap water on Aruba.
The Arubean kitchen is a mix of several influences. The Creole kitchen has the most influence. Aruba has a lot of different restaurants with several price categories.
Sightseeing
Aruba brings you a lot of sightseeings you must have seen. Oranjestad is a nice city to visit a museum or to go shopping. The island has a lot of beaches, each with it's own character. The most beautiful beaches of the Dutch Antilles can be found on Aruba.
National park Arikok
National park Arikok is near the mountain Arikok in the middle of Aruba. Here you will find plants and animals but also the famous Arawak-drawings.
Beaches on Aruba
Aruba is almost surrounded by beaches, wich belong to the most beautiful ones all over the world.
Playa Boca Catalina is very suitable to go snorkling. You can find the beach in the North west of Aruba.
Eagle Beach is very popular amoung the Arubean people, who go picknicking in the shadow of the trees.
Rogers Beach is popular among windsurfers, which is close to Baby Beach. In the early days a lot of employees of the Oil Refinery came here with their families.
In the south-east of Aruba you will find Baby Beach. This is the ideal place for kids because the water is not deep and the water is calm. When you go snorkling here you can see beautiful coralreefs.
Eagle Beach and Palm Beach (both in the north of Oranjestad) are the most popular. Palm Beach is at a 10 minutes walk from our apartments.
The Natural Bridge
The Natural Bridge on Aruba is one of the most photographed places on the island. This bridge is founded by the power of the see, who sculpt away 98 feet out of the rocks. Unfortunately the bridge collapsed in 2005.
The Hooiberg
When you are on top of the Hooiberg on Aruba, you can almost see the whole island.
So there are enough reasons to visit this piece of the Caribbean.
